August was a bit scattered for me, so this studio recap is going to be brief but all over the place! I really do enjoy going through the last month’s photo roll to see what I did and got done. I hope you enjoy this August studio recap as much as I enjoyed making it!

Who made this mess?!

a sewing room with piles of fabric and bins all over the place; it's a real mess

Ok, so guilty! I decided that I wanted to rearrange my studio so I could set up to film workshops and other videos. To do that, I had to empty all my bookshelves so they’d be easier to move. Once again, Sir was a huge help in this process. There’s no way I could have done it without him.

I was really selective when I put my fabric away, and I have a great destash sale going on in my shop. I have scrap bags, fat quarter bundles, and yardage at deeply discounted prices. I also decided I have to part with some of the mini quilts that I just don’t have room for anymore. Head over to the shop to see if there’s anything perfect for your next project.

Play ball!

Sir’s bestie from high school visited us at the beginning of the month with his family. We went to an Orioles game in Baltimore with them, and I was happy to get my second ballpark of the season in.  I loved getting to know them and hear stories about Baby Sir. Gotta be honest, I don’t even know who they played or who won. It was just great getting to know Sir’s long-time friends better.

Did I do that?!

I had always played around with writing quilt patterns, but I decided to get serious about it at the beginning of the summer. I had the absolute best pattern testers, and it was a trip to see my pattern being made by other actual quilters. However, Holland still hadn’t been quilted, basted, or bound about two weeks out from release day, so I had to hustle to get it done. If you’ve already bought your pattern, thank you so much. The support has been amazing for me. If you haven’t, tap the button below to get your copy. We’re starting a quilt along on Monday, Oct. 3, and you’ll want to join us for that too.

Team Henry!

I needed some down time with everything else going on, so I got back into my Animal Crossing island. I am 9/10 in liking my villagers, and I just love Henry and his house. He usually looks so grumpy but lights right up when I come to say hi. I have completely flattened my island and am now working on creating neighborhoods, a farmers’ market, a farm, and a great entrance between the airport and Resident Services. I’m sorry if this means absolutely nothing to you. I love this little game and how much it lowers my stress levels!

So there you go. That’s the August studio recap. September’s is going to be just as awesome. Oh! Did you know I send out my best content to my email subscribers before anyone else? Yup! And when you sign up, you’ll get a download that explains the four culprits of a too-small block and how to fix them. Hint: it’s NOT your seam allowance! You can sign up for my emails and get the download right away.
