Hello, and welcome to week 2 of the Holland quilt along! You did a great job pulling your fabric, and I’m so excited to see what you do next. If you haven’t joined in yet, it’s not too late. Just head over to my store to get your copy of the pattern. If you want to make the blue ombre version on the cover, you can still get fabric kits from Studio B Quilt. Let’s get rolling on week 2 info, shall we?
Prizes!
This week’s sponsor is Stash Tools. Keril is offering a free template of your choice from her shop. When you post to Instagram using #hollandQAL, that’s an entry to win a prize. You don’t have to post the current week’s task to be eligible. There’s no such thing as “behind” on Team Thread. Good luck!

Cutting Tips
Now’s the time to commit to that fabric you pulled last week and get to cutting. Outside the sewing machine, the rotary cutter is the tool that revolutionized quilting the most. Imagine instead of cutting fabric pizza, you have to get out your scissors and cut every piece by hand. Ugh! When you have a sharp blade and a clean mat, rotary cutting really saves us a lot of time. But if you’re like me, you don’t change your rotary cutter blade nearly enough. Here are my four tips for knowing when it’s time. I sit solidly in that number 4 tip!!
OK. There’s a little tedium this week, but I believe in you. I cut my fabric for the quilt along over the weekend, and it’s wild to think that this little pile of squares will become a throw-size quilt. Happy cutting, and I’ll see you on the ‘Gram.
