Have you ever found a designer you like, and you just want to do all their things because you like them so much? That’s exactly how I feel about Rebecca Bryan of Bryan House Quilts. If she’s selling, I’m buying! As good as her stuff is, I was blown away by the Wildflower quilt pattern for her 2021 quilt along.
I don’t do paper piecing very often, but Rebecca’s pattern make the tiny pieces so worth it. The throw quilt measures 66 x 74, and I used Kona Curry, Pacific, Prairie Sky, and Malibu for the star and Silver for the background. I bound it with Paprika.
The Blocks
Each block is so stunning, I had to show you each one close up.
For whatever reason, this reminds me of a float tube in a lake.
I’m pretty sure one of the reasons I love this project so much is because of the hexagons. It’s my favorite shape.
This one reminds me of a circus tent. Would you come to this show?
I can’t remember why, but I do remember this block giving me fits. I think I had to remake 4 of the 12 triangles to have them look right.
The seam in the middle of this block was so thick! Rebecca even did a video about how to trim your seams so you won’t have this problem. I obviously didn’t follow those directions and think we can all agree that the quilting thread here is really pulling its weight.
I love how my color choices work here. The yellow on the dark blue really pops.
This one might be my favorite. Again, I should have followed the directions to trim my seams!
I think this would make the perfect picnic quilt. I know Rebecca is only a month or so away from announcing her 2023 quilt along. Make sure you check her out if you want to make a stunning quilt.
