Star Rise BOM: Flying Star

Welcome to month 2 of the Star Rise BOM, and we're working on the Flying Star this month.

The block got it's name due to the flying geese blocks and the star pattern it makes from the Coral Road Design Co. Sometimes I just love a good literal name with no hidding meaning, ya know?!

This month's tip is to use the diagonal seam washi tape from Cluck Cluck Sew. By using this tape, you don't have to draw diagonal lines on every. single. square. before sewing on the diagonal. For flying geese blocks, line your corners up on the red line. For half-square triangles, line your corners up on the blue lines so you're sewing 1/4" from the center. Not having to draw lines of your blocks is a huge time saver!

There's still time to join us! You get a new block pattern each month, and we meet for a live Q&A every month to share our wins and get questions answered. It's a fun group this year. You'll get full access to everything released so far right away. Just click or tap the link or photo below to sign up!
