March's block in the Star Rise block of the month is the Friendship Star block.
The Friendship Star block dates back to colonial America, when people would make and sign the block to go into quilts for friends who were getting married or moving across the country. These would become cherished quilts, reminding the recipient of all the friends who care for them.
This block is pretty heavy in half-square triangles, and they're easy to get just right when you take some time in the trimming process at the end.
